AGI is here

Stop waiting for "experts" to give you permission to believe what you can see with your eyes.

You can both think that AI is big, and still think that the actual, literal, physical effects on our world shouldn't be an order of magnitude more transformational than the internet or mobile phones. The internet and mobile phones are indistinguishable from magic. But people still have jobs, people still have problems to solve. The only thing that really changed is that there are a lot more billionaires here today.

It's religious belief. Spun by people who can profit, if that belief can be cannon. Spread by people who are left vulnerable to judgement day myths, due to their people killing god.

Religious, ultimatum beliefs make you incapable of accurately predicting what happens next. I don't operate on faith. I operate on vibes. I defend myself from the ASI religious virus by labeling what we have as AGI. People don't want to be right. They don't want to predict the future. They want to *look* right. Everyone is waiting for an expert, like Gary Marcus (lol, lmao even) to tell them what to think. Because if they are wrong, at least they don't look stupid Start acting as if AGI is here right now. Because it is. Sure, it's different from humans. It's better in some ways, and worse in others. But it's here. AGI is here. Most people don't know it because they aren't actually trying to get anything done.
